Skills, Tests, Achievement, Recognition – this is what STARSkate is all about!

Once a skater has completed their CANSkate Badge 6, they are eligible to move to our Intermediate Starskate session.  The Intermediate STARSkate program continues the development of more advanced figure skating skills with a combination of group lessons and private/semi-private lessons.

What is the format of the Intermediate session?

5 min coach led warm up

20 min coach led group lesson

25 min independent practice time

10 min coach led dance / cooldown

The intermediate session includes a portion of free time where skaters are expected to practice independently and safely. For the safety of all skaters and coaches, games of tag and racing will not be permitted during independent free time.

Skaters will participate in private coach assessed tests at the Star 1-5 level in the areas of Skills, Dance, Freeskate and Artistic.  Once a skater reaches Star 6 level, they will participate in one of our club test days (at the discretion of their coach), for assessment by a Skate Canada evaluator.  Please note additional test fees apply and are not included in program fees or lesson fees.

Our Intermediate sessions are offered on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Fridays.  Friday session is combined with the Senior session and is intended for intermediate skaters that have progressed and will be comfortable with older and faster skaters.

A minimum of 3 skating days per week is strongly recommended at this level. Please consult the website for exact schedule times and program fees.

Private or Semi-private coaching is required at this level.  Please contact your coach of choice DIRECTLY to inquire about their availability and rates.  Coach contact information can be found on the website under Club Info/Coaches tab.  Please do not contact the club office for private coach availability.
