CanSkate

 

CanSkate was developed by experts to teach the fundamentals of skating. Designed for all beginner skaters age 5 to 12 the focus is on fun, participation and basic skill development.  Skaters progress at their own pace and earn badges as they advance through the six stages of the CanSkate program. Skaters are taught by NCCP Certified Professional Coaches supported by trained Program Assistants from our StarSkate program.  All lessons are taught in a group lesson format. All classes are 50 minutes in length once per week.

We aim for a 1:10 Coach to Skater Ratio in the CanSkate sessions.

CSA APPROVED HOCKEY HELMETS ARE MANDATORY 

Parents are not allowed on the ice. It is mandatory that parents stay at the arena for children under the age of 11.

Please ensure that skaters are dressed appropriately. Long johns, or pajamas under warm track pants, a warm jacket, and mittens should suffice.

Passed CanSkate Badge 4 and interested in Figure Skating?

Once your skater has passed CanSkate Badge 4 they will qualify for our Intro to Starskate (figure skating) session.  Please email the club for more information about Figure Skating and the Intro to Starskate sessions..
