Powerskating Program

The upcoming season sees the return of our popular Powerskating program. This action packed program is geared to hockey skaters. The focus is on power, agility, balance, speed and endurance. In order to register skaters must be: age 6 & up and able to skate the length of the ice both forwards and backwards.

Mondays:   7:25pm - 8:15 pm              $210         

Fall Session: Sept. 20 - Dec. 13, 2010 

Winter Session: Jan 10 - Apr. 11, 2011

From learning to skate for the beginner to improving skills for the seasoned skater and anyone in between, we offer it all!  Come join the fun in our positive environment. Great exercise on ice. Ages 17 +

Precanskate Program

A fun, learn to skate program for children aged 3 (as of start of program) to 5. Focus is on standing, balancing, and gliding; skaters learn through interactive games and activities. Once basic skills have been mastered, the skater will move on to the CanSkate program. This program runs in two sessions fall and winter.
It is mandatory for Parents to stay at the arena and that CSA approved hockey helmets are worn.
One session per week

The Club is offering a PreCanSkate program that will run on the ice at the same time as the Thursday CanSkate program.  This is ideal for families that have both Pre-Can and CanSkate aged children. The program is 30 minutes long and runs in one session for the entire skating season.

CanSkate Program

Skate Canada’s learn-to-skate program for children aged 5 and up. This program focuses on the fundamental skills required for hockey, figure skating and recreational skating. The skills are arranged in stages from the simple to more complex. Badges are awarded as skills are mastered. It is mandatory for Parents to stay at the arena and that CSA approved hockey helmets are worn.

STARSkate Programs   

Skills, Test, Achievement, Recognition

STARSkate offers opportunities for skaters of all ages to develop fundamental figure skating skills in the areas of ice dance, skating skills, free skate and interpretive skating.  Skaters have the opportunity to take Skate Canada tests through a nationally standardized testing system.

All STARSkate programs run the week of  Sept. 13, 2010-April 21, 2011

Junior: Once skaters have completed the CanSkate program they learn the basics of figure skating.  There are four group lessons per week.  Private or semi-private lessons are mandatory.
Monday:           6:35pm  - 7:25pm
Thursday:         5:25pm  - 6:25pm                       $605

At this time we are not offering Junior Plus until we can determine ice availability with the new schedule.
We will keep parents advised.

Intermediate:
 Includes three group lessons per week and Wednesday Mornings. Private or semi-private lessons are mandatory.

Intermediate skaters will have the option of choosing 3 out of the 4 available sessions listed below. Skaters will sign up for a group of sessions which will be filled on a first come, first served basis. Once registered, skaters will not be able to switch between sessions.

Thursday:             4:25pm - 5:25pm
Friday:                 5:15pm - 6:15pm                      $835

Session Locations: 
All sessions will be held at the new Stouffville Clippers Sports  Complex. Sessions are subject to cancellation for test days or other events.
Refunds: 
Refunds will only be considered prior to Nov. 1 (Fall Session) and March 1 (Winter Session). For medical or extenuating circumstances a letter must be sent to the executive stating the reason.  The executive will vote on the appropriate compensation (if any) and notification will be in writing. An administration fee of $50 will be deducted. This fee includes a non-refundable Skate Canada membership.
